GSIC will stop the operation of TSUBAME 3.0 in March 2024 and start the operation of a new supercomputer "TSUBAME 4.0", in April 2024. We are currently designing the system and creating an operation plan, and the following is just a schedule and is subject to change. Still, we would like to inform you of our operation plan to ensure a smooth transition to the environment for all users. We understand that many issues may not be mentioned here yet, but we will prepare Q&A, etc., and release information as soon as it is decided.

1. About TSUBAME4.0 operation start date
As previously announced, the TSUBAME 4.0 supercomputer will be operated from April 2024.
2. About TSUBAME3.0 data migration
TSUBAME3.0 operation will end in March 2024, and TSUBAME3 will be operated only for storage for three months from April to the end of June 2024 for data download.
Since user access is expected to be concentrated during this period, please download important experimental data as much as possible during this fiscal year.
TSUBAME3.0 data will not be automatically transferred to TSUBAME4.0.
Data left in TSUBAME3.0 will be lost at the end of June 2024.
After July 1st, 2024, the data cannot be restored for any reason.
3. About TSUBAME4.0 account
The account will be managed separately from the TSUBAME 3.0 account, and procedures for account creation will be required after April 2024.
4. About application distributions on campus
TSUBAME 3.0 application distributions on campus are also scheduled to be changed in April 2024, along with the migration to TSUBAME 4.0 regarding applications, provision method, and license server. Details will be announced as soon as they are decided.
5. About billing of TSUBAME4.0
The regulations are currently being discussed and will be announced as soon as they are finalized.
6. About the schedule
This is a rough schedule for the future. It is subject to change depending on the progress of the construction work.
