Applications for external use by researchers (including companies) and members of their laboratories who have official collaborative research relationships with Tokyo Tech faculty and staff through scientific research funding, etc., will be accepted based on “Detailed terms of use of computer systems provided by GSIC, Tokyo Institute of Technology”.
Conditions for use
- Either of the following conditions must be met
- Researchers who belong to public research institutions such as universities, independent administrative agencies, or equivalent organizations other than Tokyo Tech as faculty members, and who can show that they have some kind of official collaborative research relationship with Tokyo Tech faculty members, or members of their own laboratories.
- Researchers from companies or overseas who have been approved for use of the system in accordance with Article 4, Paragraph 1, Items 4-6 of the “Detailed terms of use of computer systems provided by GSIC, Tokyo Institute of Technology”.
- Joint researchers affiliated with Tokyo Tech are responsible for paying the fees.(Payment of the usage fee must be made from within the university)
- The user must comply with the detailed regulations for the use of the computer system of the Academic Center for International Information and Computing at Tokyo Tech.
- Submit the following required documents
* If you wish to continue using the system across fiscal years, you will need to submit the necessary documents for each new fiscal year.
Restrictions on Use
Off-campus users are not allowed to use commercial applications except for compilers, debuggers, and Gaussian. See here for details.
Required Documents
A Tokyo Tech faculty or staff member with whom you have a collaborative research relationship must be in charge and submit the following documents to create an account for off-campus users
- Written oath (word file)
After checking and filling in the required information, please scan the form with your signature or seal. - Batch registration form (excel file)
Please submit the form in Excel format, as this data will be used for registration.
After inputting the data, please make sure that there are no yellow cells remaining in the form.
Reference: Residency and specific categories for TSUBAME account application - A copy of the ID issued by the organization to which the off-campus user belongs.
- Do not submit a copy of a driver's license or other ID that does not indicate the organization to which the user belongs. If you have a Tokyo Tech Access Card, please submit a copy of this card as well.
- A copy of the joint research agreement with the extramural researcher, or a document showing the joint research and the research period.
Example : Research plans, grant applications, and public documents for scientific research funds Research plans for public funds, etc.
(In the case of a company, etc.) Joint research agreement with the University, etc.
(In the case of a dispatch contract, etc.) Documents indicating that the person is dispatched based on the contract and a copy of the purchase order indicating that the contract is funded by the relevant funds, etc.- Please be sure to submit documents that show that the person using TSUBAME is a member of the project.
Where to submit documents
- Upload the required documents from Tokyo Tech Box.
When adding members, please also upload the documents 1.~4. from the above Box.
We request that you use the Tokyo Tech Box to reduce the security risk of exchanging documents containing personal information by e-mail and to confirm the identity of the responsible person.
After submitting documents
- GSIC will send an e-mail to the credited students themselves with information about their account.
- GSIC will send an email to the person in charge of your account to confirm that your registration has been completed.
After the account is issued
- The person in charge is requested to create a TSUBAME group which off-campus users can join, and register its members.
Caution
TSUBAME users are not allowed to lend their accounts to others.
Off-campus users must apply for an account for each true user.
Please be aware that any act by non-university faculty or staff to “lend” their accounts to students or corporate researchers may result in suspension or revocation of the account as a violation of the rules of use.
