Preferential billing for Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU)
Tokyo Institute of Technology and Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) will merge to form Institute of Science Tokyo(Science Tokyo) in October 2024.
Prior to the merger, preferential billing will be applied to TMDU members on the same basis as Tokyo Tech's on-campus members.
If you are already a TSUBAME user and fulfill the conditions, the fee will be applied retroactively from April of this year.
How to start using
Before university integration (until September 2024)
Please submit your proposal as a TSUBAME Joint Research User (Academic Use).
After the university integration in October, you will be able to continue using the account you are currently using as an intramural user.
For more details, please refer to “Joint Usage from outside Tokyo Tech”.
After the university integration (after October 2024)
You will be able to use the service as an on-campus user of Science Tokyo.
Specific procedures for starting use after October are currently under consideration.
We plan to start the account application process around mid-October. When the process begins, we will announce it not only on the TSUBAME4 computing service website but also through a university-wide announcement on Slack.

Eligibility
Groups consisting solely of faculty, staff, and students enrolled at either TMDU or Tokyo Tech are eligible.
Exemption from the Post-Use Result Report
The same treatment as for intramural use is applied, and the submission of the results report required for joint use (publication of results) will be waived.
Payment of usage fees
Before University Integration (until September 2024)
Point purchases that can be paid by the end of September will be paid by invoice (with consumption tax).
If payment is not made in time by the end of September, point purchases will not be accepted.
After university consolidation (after October 2024)
Point purchases after October will be processed by intra-campus transfer (tax-exempt).
Expiration date of purchased TSUBAME points
TSUBAME points expire at the end of the academic year in which they are purchased.
Therefore, points purchased by the end of September can continue to be used after October.
Usage Fees
Before university integration (until September 2024)
Due to institutional and system reasons, the discount will not be applied by directly discounting the purchase price, but by granting additional TSUBAME points free of charge in accordance with the purchase price. Specifically, three times as many points will be additionally granted to the points purchased at the regular price for joint use (publication of results) (400 TSUBAME points per unit is 110,000 yen including tax).
After university integration (after October 2024)
The preferential on-campus price will apply.(16 TSUBAME points for 1,000 yen, tax free)
